I remember him talking about "Miss Burke"> Oh my gosh! you are talking about "Nellie Burke".....I have a picture of her with my uncle, Glenn Jepperson and my great-grandmother, Esther Jepperson. My ggmother was hoping that Glenn and Nellie Burke would marry. They didn't, he chose another local girl, Helen Heichemer. I went through the 4th grade in Goldfield High School. I think it was only open about one year or so after I left. My Dad graduated from Goldfield High School in 1931. It is a unique and very photographic mountain and it is a shame that it will be destroyed but all good things must end sometime I guess. I am thankful that we have our memories preserved in pictures so as not to forget. I have family buried in this cemetery and know that the crosses and stones are not that old. I believe the townspeople of Goldfield erected them. A nice touch for ones who have been long forgotten.
